An Honorable Visit

January 27th, 2009

Central CA—He remains one of the great “green” ambassadors of this time. The mayor of Alviston is on the road spreading environmental good will and information. His Honor’s first stop was a high school class in the prestigious Clovis Unified School District. It’s a trick keeping young minds engaged with all of this “green” speak, but the mayor pulled it off, watch for yourself.

REC Makes It Simple

January 20th, 2009

Central CA—These days, REC Solar is as close as your nearest Costco. REC will not rest, working the weekends. The Western Region solar installer makes it easier and easier for people to find out about the virtues of solar-generated power. REC sets up in a Fresno Costco to take advantage of the stream of cost-conscience weekend shoppers.

As the sign indicates, the government continues support for solar conversion with tax reductions. A 30% tax credit is just one advantage to solar installation right now. There are numerous benefits and savings to solar.

It will drastically reduce electrical costs and cut down on the use of fossil-burning fuels. Solar can spare your budget and the planet, making it a popular option. REC Solar wants to make sure as many people as possible learn about it with their cordial and informative information center in store.

New Years Greening

January 4th, 2009

Central CA—The New Year brings its share of housecleaning, getting things in order. In the case of Alviston.com, it is time to review the first eight months of existence. The founders of the online city are pleased with the growth of their green resource center.

As it stands now, Alviston.com is one of the fastest-growing sites of its kind since its Earth Day 2008 inception. What makes the virtual green city stand out is the unique approach to the complex world of green. Alviston’s city motto is “green clarity and common sense.” Alviston.com tries to make “coded eco-speak” simple and understandable. That theme is agreeable to our many visitors—12,649 of them to be exact.

Alviston.com’s “Green News” section provides current information on the rapidly changing world of green. If it is green and makes sense and “Green News” finds it, visitors will see it here. “Green News” makes every effort to separate the “green” fad from the “green” long-term solution.

Probably the most telling aspect of the Alviston.com review is the amount of time visitors spend on the site—an average of five minutes. Alviston.com knows time in the year 2009 is extremely valuable and co-founder Mark Alvis says, “We respect the visitor’s time, we’ll make it worth their while.”

Look for unique green categories, stories, cutting-edge video and the Mayor’s Blog in the year ahead and the years to come. More and more Alviston.com is a clearinghouse for real green practices and innovations. Alviston.com strives to provide original information and reviews, many from first hand Alviston experiences with the products.
